InterPlay - Based on the understanding that a theatrical performance is a gestalt audiovisual text, and underpinned by the latest academic and field research, the training introduces and explores fundamental new strategies for sign language interpreting in this complex and highly specialised setting. Through practical activities and discussion, the course allows participants to begin to develop new skills in interpreting theatre.

InterpPlay 1 - A two-day introduction to theatre interpreting for British Sign Language-English interpeters.
Suitable for qualified interpreters, with or without theatre expereince, since the training introduces new methods and approaches to sign language interpreting for theatre, based on the discipline of audiovisual translation.

Interpplay 2 - A four-day exploration and investigation of the approaches to theatre interpreting introduced in InterpPlay I.
Working with a director, dramaturg, and performers, participants will discover how theatre is constructed to make meaning, and explore the BSL-English interpreter's collaboration in the maintanance of meaning for a Deaf audience.

Interpreter Training - we provide a range of interpreter training workshop and courses, from introductions to interpreting to specialist workshops for theatre and media settings.
These courses can be bespoke to meet the needs of the participants and we also offer the Signature level 6 Diploma in Sign Language Interpreting and Translation.

Siobhán Rocks was an invited plenary speaker the conference. Both Siobhán Rocks and Alex McDonald ran professional workshop on theatre interpreting and media interpreting respectively, September , 2013.
